This idea came to me last night, and while it isn't original, it isn't something widely done by the attendee body.  The staff of Matsuricon has been very open-hearted when it comes to raising money for good causes.  A lot of money was raised for all sorts of medical research and was on-hand when Nobuo Uematsu was kind enough to offer to auction his personal purification crystal and tuning fork which he used consistently while on the road.  It sold for about $500+ dollars.

I'm thinking of trying to put together that sort of thing run by the attendees and panelists.  Perhaps one night we select a time and place in a panel room, have an hour or two where we auction off items for others, autographed goods and dvds and the such.  I have entire cosplays I would love to get some money for and put towards a good cause.  We could make a pool of items, auction them off one by one, 100% of the money made from them goes to a charity.

Opinions or thoughts?
