What is Matsuricon's weapons policy? I sometimes cosplay as Lupin III and use an orange-capped Walther P-38 as a prop (his weapon in the anime). It is technically an air soft gun, but I never use it for that purpose. And besides being orange-tipped, but it also has an orange plug.

I do believe that any realistic looking gun is banned from the convention, this was definitely the decision for last year. It will most likely apply for this year as well, but I will ask the other directors.

No worries either way. Weapons policies are there for a reason. I can always simply not bring the walther. It isn't necessary for Lupin, although fun for posing. I can always wear my Goemon Ishikawa costume with wooden bokken or my Makoto cosplay.

Well, i have a question about the weapons policy as well.

I am going to be cosplaying roxas from kingdom hearts and I was wondering if a metal keyblade would be allowed.

I wasn't thinking when I ordered it and wanted to see if it would be allowed to bring.

Metal weapons are not allowed. They can pose an extreme risk to other attendees and yourself. We have this policy simply to be on the safe side. Also airsoft guns and other weapons that can be mistaken for real firearms are not allowed. In such a large convention space, these types of props can often pose a risk simply because other people in the space may misinterpret the prop as a real weapon. In the coming months we will post an official weapons policy that makes all of this very clear.

Well the convention is almost a month away now, and I was wondering if the weapons policy was posted yet. I couldn't seem to find it anywhere, but I may have missed it. Thanks.

Wow where the crap is the darn weapon's policy thread???
I'm not too sure if a bat is alright to bring but it's a wooden one and simply a picture
prop, so I'm hoping that's alright. Proper weapon props-etiquette will be used of course.
