Introduction Thread!!

Hello!  My name is Jessi, and this will be my first time attending Matsuricon!  Like Margaret, my sis and I are looking for a con to replace Ohayocon, and we've heard good things about Matsuri so we are very much looking forward to our first year.

I'm 28, from Cuyahoga Falls, OH, and have been watching anime since around 2000, attending cons since the now defunct C-kon in 2002.  My sis and I almost always attend together - it's sort of become our "thing" - and we love to cosplay.  Some of my favorite anime includes Fullmetal Alchemist, Digimon Adventure, Hikaru no Go, Scrapped Princess, Last Exile, and Beck, and I'm currently in love with Chihayafuru and Sket Dance.  My sis is less into anime, but she loves Escaflowne and has recently been enjoying Ouran High School Host Club.  I'm also a big Zelda and Chrono Trigger/Cross fan.

We'll be in the Artist Alley ("Tenkuu no Chibi"), so we won't be going to a lot of events, but we've always found this a great way to meet fellow anime fans, so we look forward to seeing you all there! ^_^

Yo! My name is Brittany, but for short you can call me Britt. Unless you decide to pick an interesting nickname for me, then I don't really mind, lol. Truth is, I've always been a big fan of Anime and Manga, but never really realized what it was until I was 12. Now I'm a major fan and have been practicing my drawings skills, hoping to create my own comic or something. xD Anyway, this is going to be my first time going to Matsuricon. However it will be my second convention. The first convention I went to was Ohayocon and now I can't get enough of them! Oh, I'm 19 years old and to be honest, I couldn't say what my favorite Anime or Manga is. I like them all honestly, though I'm not a fan of some Mecha or Sport ones.

Anyway, I'm a bit of a noob when it comes to conventions, so I hope you all will treat me kindly. Feel free to talk to me whenever you'd like and I also enjoy free hugs!

What the heck? Scrapped Princess fans? I didn't know there was anyone else out there! Reminds me of wanting to do a Shannon cosplay...

Anyhow, I'm Alex, 23, from Columbus, I've been to every Ohayocon and Matsuricon since 2009 (I think?). I used to go to Anime Punch as well, but I've kind of lost interest in it. I cosplay every time I go, but I have way more video game cosplays than anime cosplays for some reason.

Despite being a con veteran, this will be the first time I'm planning to run a panel. I've been planning a Mega Man X panel and video game music concert/panel/thing, as well as a few other little ideas (can't wait for panel submissions to open).

My favorite anime include Excel Saga, Rune Soldier, Death Note, Fullmetal Alchemist, Monster, Fate/Stay Night, and Kurau: Phantom Memory. Regardless of how much I like it, Kurau is the best anime ever made - that is a fact.

Favorite video games include Mega Man, Castlevania, Monster Hunter, Disgaea, Tekken, and Virtual On.

Urm, hello! My name's Bethany, and I'm 18 years old...Uh, my first con was Tekkoshocon this year where I cosplayed as the Undertaker and Ukraine. ^_^ I'm still a newb to cons, but I absolutely adored Tekko. This will be my first Matsuricon and I can't wait.

Yeah, there don't seem to be too many of us out there, sadly.  But if you do make a Shannon cosplay, I'll totally finish up my Chris costume!  Made it years ago and recently decided to give it a complete overhaul, but I haven't had anywhere to wear it yet.  And it's usually pretty easy to convince my sis to bring Soopy-kun with her, lol.

Won't lie, having 5 different SP cosplays at the same con would pretty much make my year, lol.  But I definitely understand the being busy and already having enough costumes issues (in fact, I have those same issues for Matsuri).  Good luck with your panel should it get accepted - love the idea of a game music panel with some live music! ^_^  I'll see if my sis wants to squeeze in Soopy as admittedly it'd be nice to be recognized for once, lol.  If I had a dime for every time someone said "Yoshi"...

*waves* Hello my name is Beth I am thirty-five minutes from Columbus. This will be my second MatsuriCon I have been to MastsuriCon before I believe the very first one. My first con was Anime Punch and I was blown away and had a blast with that one. I have seen roughly about 200 anime and counting which are just being currently aired. I have to say that My favorite anime would have to be Gundam wing. Due to what I do for a living I am always hinting or missing most of the cons that I would like to go to. So I am excited that I will be able to attend MatsuriCon this year.

Hi everyone i'm Megan, but all my friends call me Meg or Yuki. I'm 21 years old

I'll be 22 on September 11th and this is my third year attending Matsuricon. Last year I went with my fiancee and he proposed to me at the formal ball. It was the best moment of my life at the con. I also went to Ohayocon,Tekkoshocon,Sugoicon,A&G Ohio,Animarathon,and Colossalcon,I used to go to Shinbokucon but i lost interest in that con.

I'm a gamer and I love anime. I enjoy watching new animes and playing new and interesting games.

I have some cosplays for Matsuri this yr I will for sure be going as Aqua from Kingdom Hearts Birth By Sleep and Yuki Cross from Vampire Knight and Tifa Lockehart from Final Fantasy 7 Advent Children.I'll also be wearing Yuki Cross' ballroom dress.

I am 20 years old, will be 21 by time the con rolls around. I have been going to conventions since June 2010, cosplaying a bit before then. I live in a really rural area of far western Kentucky. This year will be my second Matsuricon, it fell on my birthday last year. XD I like a lot of different anime and find myself keeping up with 5-10 new ones each time the new anime seasons rolls around. Other than that I enjoy hanging out with friends and making new ones. My name is James, and I am a long-time Matsuri-goer.  Attended at Matsuricon 3, where I won my next three years a comp'd weekend registration though a game hosted by Dusty, which cemented my adoration for this Con.  I live in Columbus (Dublin, specifically), and I have been attending cons for about 10 years now.  I am a red-head, have nerdy tattoos, and host Kingdom Hearts panels.

Many Matsuri-vets and KH fans in attendance know me as Terra (or Lord Terra if you're around far too late on Saturday nights), and cosplay the character, as well as Riku, Castiel from Supernatural, and Red Hood from DC's Batman comics.

I'll be seeing you all in a few short months when Matsuricon is upon us all once again.

Hello all. My name is Mark and I am a 23 year college senior. I live around the Huntington acrea in West Virginia. I have been a long time anime and video game fan.

Anime wise, I love older Pokemon, Yu Yu Hakusho, Kenichi Sgt. Frog, Slayers, and Fairy Tail.

Video game wise, well let's just say I like most things Nintendo.

I have a few cosplay outfits. These include Yusuke Urameshi, Ash Ketchum, and Skull Kid from Majora's Mask. This summer I am trying to make a costume based on Articuno from pokemon.

That's awesome!   My second cosplay ever was Pacifica at Ohayocon, with a Leo and a Chris.  We were suppose to have a full group, but you know how that goes some times. XD

I am also a little sad that people are looking to replace Ohayocon... yeah, staff messed up last year.  It's a fact, but I think they will get much much better!  I say go to both cons!   They're at completely different times of the year, and I love them both!

In my defense, my sis and I no longer go to Ohayocon because of the new rules their AA adopted a few years back which make it pretty impossible for us to be a part of it (a shame as we really loved it there ).  Although I have still been as a regular attendee twice since then ('09 and '10), and it was pretty disappointing to have almost every panel we were interested in cancelled or delayed.

Which Ohayocon were you Pacifica?  Even if it was one I attended I must have missed you guys, which makes me extremely sad! D:  I somehow always miss the cosplays I really want to see...
