No. We still have to figure out who Number One is.

Yes. Yes, he was.

He lost, ultimately, so he can't be number one. He was beset by idiots on all sides, granted, but he still lost.

Even though his son's gay lover was thwarting the necessary procreation from his son's marriage, and he was potentially savvy enough to threaten longshank's dominion, he was the only competent underling that he had.

...and he hilariously killed him. That's not the mark of a number one move IMO.

Well, it was ultimately a reference to The Prisoner, not a Braveheart reference.

"We want information...you are number six (sadly that anime wasn't remarkable)...who is number one?...."

Or something like that. My memories of the show are vague.

More on topic, I don't see any new guest announcement on the main page. Is my browser cache just messing with me or is there no official announcement there to be seen?

Should I be sorting out what I want Karbowski to sign? She's been in anime for 7 years, and in almost everything for the past several, so I might need 4 months to "cull the herd" of shows to get signed. From Gilgamesh to Infinite Stratos, and everything in between.  Cool

I still don't see anything. Not even a twitter link, which is always a sign that it's not there yet.

Sad face.

Well, I'll bet that it's a funimation guest. I don't know how matsuricon keeps bringing in droves of funi guests, but I hope they keep it up. Matsuricon is like the opposite of Ohayocon in this respect, and I like that.

I'm also hoping to see the return of Clarine Harp in the truckloads of funimation guests that y'all are carting in via some preternatural power. She's like a Funimation booth...times a thousand.

The anxiety for this new guest announcement is brutal. Since we're talking about old movies and shows, to quote from the Dirty Harry movie: "I gots to know, I GOTS TO KNOW!"

Here's part of the issue we're running into now --

We get a guest saying "Yes, I would like to come", we respond with "Give us your info"

Then guest says "Well, I have this ONE thing...."

Then we go back and forth.  It's been really strange this year with some of the new guests, and hopefully it gets resolved.

But since I do like your witty banter, I can give you this info:

We have 4 unannounced guests - 2 are new, 2 are returning.

Both of the new guests have old school and recent anime connections.

The 2 returning guests are pretty easy to deduce Wink

And to add, the returning guests want to do something special for us, which is why we aren't announcing them normally Tongue

I'm afraid I don't understand exactly what you mean when you say that the guests have "this ONE thing" which throws a wrench in the works.

As for deducing the returning guests, I'm no Sherlock Holmes but I did recently see the BBC show Sherlock (2010) on Netflix so I feel pretty confident in guessing that Stephanie Young will be a returning guest. "Ties to anime" makes me think that the guest's link to Anime is vague, and thus they aren't primarily an anime VA. That could cover Stephanie Young's husband, but it could also mean Jennifer Hale. If it does mean Hale, which would be good because I didn't get to meet her last year, then that means that there's another guest. My guess then would be Clarine Harp (a biased guess), but I'm sticking to my original guess of Stephanie Young.

Reading the clues, it doesn't seem as though both Stephanie Young and Clarine Harp could return to matsuricon. If so, I'm glad that I was there last year. I particularly enjoyed Harp's behind the scenes panel with Eric "demon of the desert" Vale.

For new guests, Jamie Marchi just came to mind
(mainly because I don't want to go to the outskirts of Chicago in September, couldn't go to Long Island this weekend, and can't go to upstate new York in 3 weeks as I'll be at another con).

Thanks for letting us know what's going on, Zyvernia. I swear, bureaucracy is a truly annoying plague to any system.

As for the two returning, I think I got an idea...
