Now now, you two, play nice Smiley

To clarify a few things:

When we do drop a clue for this guest, we will say "This is a clue." When will we drop clues, officially?    That is unknown at this time.

As for how big this guest is, let me give you a point of reference.  We have a demograph on staff that is from 16-33. Every person who knows the name oft this guest is got very excited because they have heard their voice at one point in time (*This is a hint*) and has not seen this person in the region in a while.  That should eliminate a few people.

Official clues to go up soon.  Keep this one between us ^_^

Something that has reached a 16-33 age range almost entirely?

Few anime series have done that.  Shows like Pokemon and other older aired-on-tv series of a similar nature.

I suppose that this guest is from an older franchise or else the age range wouldn't matter.  If it were, say, Madoka Magica or Naruto, the age range wouldn't be a clue as it would be a no-brainer that anime fans of all ages have seen these.

I'm not sure if the older shows that, at one point, "everyone has seen" work here.  The days of everyone having seen the original Eva and trigun, for example, are gone.

Is this on the right track?

edit: Will the clue be accompanied by clue goo?

We've heard the voice, odds are, if we're between 16 and 33, but it doesn't seem as though we heard it because of an anime series we all watched?

Where does that leave us,  with video games?  I do remember that there was originally supposed to be a guest who wasn't famous for anime, but I'd forgotten that as I thought it no longer applied...

The plot thickens...

I agree with this sentiment. Also, that first little clue is exciting.

Well, aside from these exciting developments, my hope is that we see a few more guests (I'm hoping for at least three) before guest relations officially close for the year.

Well, here's some more people to rule out coming to Matsuricon; since they will be attending Fan Expo Canada the same weekend:

Wendee Lee
Colleen Clinkenbeard
Michael Sinterniklaas
Trina Nishimura
Jamie Marchi

(Annoucement Link)

More Bummer.

It's always brutal to rule out guests.   Though I do have a fair bit of new stuff for the others to sign, the only one on the list that I haven't managed to track down yet has been Jamie Marchi, so it isn't too bad.  I had to choose between her and Brad Swaile, and like in Death Note, Kira won Wink

On the plus side, there are still tons of great, I might even say better (as far as guest panels and roles go), guests out there.

Yep, Jamie Marchi AND Colleen Clinkenbeard were on our radar to invite THIS year.  Ah well, there's 2013.

While you're at it, what do you think about nabbing Blake Shepard from Ikasucon and holding him "hostage" for a month until Matsuricon?  Grin

Though on the plus side, isn't Britney Karbowski still "up for grabs" as a convention guest during this time?

They're Canadians, they won't mind.  As Weird Al said "Break their nose and they'll just say 'sorry', tell me what kind of freaks are that polite?"

Brad Swaile quipped that violence isn't in a Canadian's nature...though I wonder as I've seen some things that I'd call violent in ice hockey games.

Entertainingly enough, I've heard from a reliable, first-hand source that hockey players are actually really nice compared to other athletes of other sports.

Also, nice use of "Weird Al".
