Some people honestly don't appreciate how hard it is to run a convention, let alone find guests without schedule/recording conflicts and get them actually to the convention.  There are so many nay-sayers and bashers running their little mouths that I thought it was about time someone commended you guys for your work.

This specific topic is to discuss the guests in a positive light, as well as give props to the con staff for putting together a good crowd.

High fives for all of you guys.  Cheesy

I completely agree whole heartedly! I kept trying to explain that myself but people would just continue complaining and ignoring my attempt ><; So frustrating. However! I <3 this thread you started. Such hardwork and dedication was put into making this happen and I think its turned out wonderful! Great job Matsuricon!

I agree! The guest list looks fantastic! This is the most pumped I've been about guests of any con so far! I've been wanting to see Brina Palencia, Chris Sabat, and Micah Solusod at a con, and ALL THREE are scheduled to be at Matsuricon! Not to mention that I found out about Matsuricon through Micah's facebook page and youtube video announcing he will be at Matsuri. Thanks Micah! Thanks other awesome guests! Thanks Matsuricon!!!

Does this mean I can throw him on stage at random intervals during events he has nothing to do with?  XD

Now with 100% more Sonny Strait.

I just want you guys to know that I appreciate the amount and quality of guests. I've been to cons with five times as many attendees but with a quarter of the guests. Last years Matsuricon was my second favorite con I've ever been to (and I've been to about 20), and that was because of an excellent staff, tons of things to do, and great guests. A bit of knowledge that my Grandfather left me with is "No matter what you do, people always pay attention to what you aren't doing." Take that for what it's worth.
Guys, keep doing what you are doing and you will have a devotee in me for years and years to come.
Also CHRIS FREAKIN' SABAT!!!

Matsuricon 2012 has announced almost as many guests in the past few days than Otakon has in 11 months.  They're only up to 9 guests (3 of which are only tangentially anime related), and honestly, none of the US anime guests they have thus far need announcing as a blind man could see 'em coming.  Too bad I'm not a huge fan of their work, but I digress... Wink

Matsuricon 2011 is definitely up there in the Pantheon of Anime Cons.

I see that the guests keep on trickling in.  Definitely awesome.  Though to somber things up a bit, that expression sounds like it could easily be used to justify slacking off (as could this thread itself).

BTW, the appropriate phrasing is "Christopher Mother-BEEP Sabat", as said by Colleen Clinkenbeard in his Solty Rei commentary track.  Wink

We're hoping to have another surprise or two for everyone.  Sometimes things get freed up and it falls into place.  Here's to hoping!

I quite like the guest list this year. I for one am eager to meet Mr. Oliver as a Lupin fan. I admit I am slightly disappointed that Sonny isn't on the list, since I know him and don't get to see him often. I thought it would be fun to see Geneon Lupin vs FUNimation Lupin. Having said that, I won't lose sleep if he doesn't come. Voice actors are people and busy ones at that. Sonny already has a lot of convention appearances and I don't want his health to suffer (he had walking pneumonia earlier this year).

Reguaress, I am looking forward to Matsuricon and I hope to have fun meeting new guests and saying hello to ones I've met before (Haberkorn, Sabat, and McNeil). Not to mention, I will be working in artist alley.

You're in luck!  Sonny has recently been added to the guest list.  He isn't on the website yet, but his appearance has been announced on both our Facebook group and Sonny's personal Facebook page.

Funimation's Lupin > Geneon's.  Funimation vs Bang/Zoom = no contest Wink

My husband and I are also very happy with this guest list!  We went to ACEN this year and there guest list was only so-so and wasnt posted till almost 2 weeks before the con was to happen Sad

Here is to Matsuricon and most likely my new favorite convention to go to every year!  Keep up the awesomeness Cheesy

(now if I can just get that confirmation email from pre-reg I will be totally set for the weekend! )
