Hello Matsuricon heroes! This is The Hero Zone here to happily announce that we are on to run TG events this year at the convention! We will have an entire room to ourselves and will be bringing a slew of demos, running some events, and giving you a fun place to stay between panels. We look forward to seeing you all in Columbus and especially if we have met before elsewhere (or if you are from our hometown area of Sandusky). Please post your ideas for tournaments and demos you'd like to see so we can take them into consideration when formulating our plans. Thanks for supporting this convention, each one of us is what makes events like this so special and why this makes each of you a hero!  Cheesy

Events we will automatically include (days/times not yet set, stay tuned):
Yu-Gi-Oh! Advanced Format
MTG Standard Constructed
Tanto Cuore DBG
Dungeons and Dragons 4E
Munchkin (maybe other SJG depending on our Man in Black's availability)

Bring your 3DS as well, most of our staff have all puzzles completed and it is always great to see more Miis! Possible tournaments like Pokemon B&W, again stay tuned!

If you are wondering who we are and what we do, please feel free to visit our Facebook. We want you to know that The Hero Zone understands how important tabletop games are to you and the convention as a whole and we will facilitate both in a friendly, professional manner!

Awesome! I have a few questions regarding D&D 4E.
1. Will there be a handful of small groups playing or one large group...
2. If we have pre-existing characters that aren't currently being used in any adventures can we use them or will we need to make a new character for this?
3. If we have supplies (ie. manuals, dice, maps, DM screens, monster tokens..ect)  can we/ do we have to bring them...or will they be supplied???
4. Finally will there be a set number of groups or will we be able to start our own campaign and have people join in. I have a fair sized group of friends who will be with me who play D&D as well and I actually DM so I was just wondering what all the guidelines were and how lax this would be.

Thank you   ^^

If you and your friends wish to bring your materials you certainly may. However books can be heavy and cumbersome things so as far as what we have planned any adventures we run will be fun little one-shots (like Encounters) and we will supply everything you need (dice may be limited so you should probably bring your own just in case). The number of events ran will partially depend on staff availability and interest. We will post up a big schedule on giant sticky notes at the convention. Since our joining in was a bit of a last-moment thing we are going into overtime to plan out fun, quality events with the staff we will have available. We'll offer as much as we can, but we don't want to run half-butted events. If we do something, we're going to do it right!  Cool

On that note, though, suggestions are always welcome and just because we may not feature an event doesn't mean you as guests can't throw something together. Examples in the past at other conventions were attendee-driven Cardfight Vanguard demos and Pokemon DS battles.

I'm running free intro demos of Kaiju Kaos - The Miniatures Game on Saturday. Stop by and play Godzilla, Gigan, Purple People Eater, Cthulhu, Tentakill, and many more in this colossal-sized tabletop game! See you Saturday!

Most of this should be standard-issue reminders but we will be enforcing the following rules:

1. Your badge must be present at all times to enter the room. Just as well, while we are running 24 hours we can't allow anyone to sleep in the game room. It is ubiquitous to say at this point, but as always hygiene is a must especially when we have so many people in one place. Hand sanitizer and tissues will be provided by us for your sanitary convenience just as we make available in our store.

2. Bring a sense of fun, adventure, and a willingness to try new things. Also, please practice sportsmanship and discretion of language and topic matter when necessary. Aside from the "Big Kids' Table" where we will enforce an 18+ only attendance policy (bring ID), we want to keep things no "worse" than PG-13. The "ONLY WAR!" event will be 16+.

3. If you wish to demo a game, please feel free to ask a TG staffer. In addition to helping us have a heads-up on who has what we may even be able to sit down with you and teach you the game one-on-one. Please treat all demo copies with respect, some of them have seen many a-convention and we'd love for them to see many more.

If you wish to contact us directly with a question, concern, or idea please reply here, in a PM to me, or follow the link to find us on Facebook to message us or post on our wall. We encourage you to do this anyway so you can get a better sense of who we are, see our passion, and get to know your FLGS-turned-FLAC staff!

We're coming to you LIVE from Matsuricon, we have a near-full room and everyone seems to be having a blast. To all of you who braved the skies and roads to come to this convention, you have our sincere gratitude. May your eyes bleed with awesome, your fingers spasm from cool, and your head a-splode with Homestar Runner references.

Thank you everyone for an amazing Matsuricon. It was great to see old friends and make new ones. We hope you enjoyed the demos, events, or props we brought with us for you to accent your cosplay pictures. Suggestions for next year are welcome and we value your opinion not just as staff of the convention but fellow TGers like yourselves!
