Staff

Running an operation like Matsuricon takes a lot of time, dedication, and people power.  We are always looking for more people to help out at our event! Staffers are the main bulk of our help, dedicated to helping our convention run smoothly in one area.

Staff Requirements

  • Must be 16 or older by August 12th, 2022.
  • Must be able to work Friday through Sunday, with Thursday as a possibility.
  • Must sign up for a minimum of 24 hours during the event weekend.
  • At least 8 of your hours must be worked on Saturday, depending on your departmental requirement.

  • Flexible schedules so you may attend a few events throughout the weekend.

  • Entrance to Staff-Only Events, including a staff dinner on Thursday and Sunday night of the con. (for helping with setup and teardown)

Gophering

Are you interested in helping the convention but not sure how much time you want to commit? Sign up at con to be one of our valued Gophers! With our tiered reward system, you can choose as many or as few hours as you’d like to work. There’s no obligation to work more hours, and you can get an understanding of how much manpower it takes to run an event like this!

Sign ups to be a Gopher will take place at con, look for our Gopher table in the area above the food court escalator.

Rewards

Tier 1: 4 Hours of work can be redeemed for a free meal from our lovely Staff Suite! You can earn this tier multiple times.

Tier 2: 8 Hours of work can be redeemed for your choice between a convention t-shirt OR a $15 merchandise voucher (usable only at the Matsuricon Booth).

Tier 3: 16 Hours of work can be redeemed for a full badge reimbursement. Reimbursement will occur on Sunday regardless of when hours were earned.

Tier 4: 24+ Hours of work will earn you the above badge reimbursement, plus a seat at our staff appreciation dinner, meal included!
