Welcome in to the Matsuricon Night Market, an after-hours hub where the fun continues!

After the main halls close, step into a room that offers that traditional Japanese Matsuri feel where our local artists can showcase their talents with beautiful art and clever creations. Immerse yourself in this beautiful collection and spend some time trying your luck at our Matsuri Game station.

Have you ever wanted to try Daruma Otoshi (Doll Drop) or Kingyo Sukui (Goldfish Scoop)? Well now is your chance, as well as many other fun festival games. These ticketed games offer a chance to win fun prizes!

Volunteer Information:

Night Market – we are the late night crew! We operate from between the hours of 5pm-12am. We operate ticket sales, games and a prize table within the Night Market. Having good people skills is a must, especially if you help with the games and have to explain how to play and win tickets. Be friendly and open with attendees, we want them to keep coming back to enjoy the Night Market during the late hours. We plan on having an orientation prior to opening to go over each assignment.

Potential Responsibilities:

  • Games – We have a variety of games attendees can play from the daruma knockdown game, to axe throwing, to shoot the moon. Each game has its own set of rules of how to play and how many tickets they can win which are included at the table where the games are set up at.
  • Ticket sales – Volunteers will be asked to handle cash and card sales for tickets. Need basic math skills for giving change and basic computer skills for operating a tablet for card sales.
  • Prize Table – Volunteers will be taking the tickets won from the games played from attendees then assisting attendees with what prizes they are exchanging their tickets for.
  • Badge checking – Volunteers will check badges as attendees enter the Night Market, making sure if they have Platinum, Gold, 3 day attendee, or single day attendee badges. We also use a counter to keep track of the number of people coming into the Night Market, so keeping an accurate account is a must.
  • Line coordination – Volunteers will help to make sure the line doesn’t affect the flow of traffic in the hallway as attendees wait for the Night Market to open.
